These numbers from Kate Spade studios are the embodiment of impeccable taste and flair for the mid-century chic: endlessly elegant, genius in their simplicity and just plain pretty. The styling opportunities are endless (I am digging the colored tights, the multi-layered "romantic" baubles not so much.) Some of the dresses are a tad more adventurous then others, but, regardless: any girl who will rock one of these at her wedding is a friend of mine.

I found the work of Maggie Austin via Oh Joy blog, and... wow...I can't...I mean, I am.... it is... It just left me breathless. The cakes are designed with such elegance and lightness that the mere images of them seem to be sufficient as a treat for all senses. The fact that they are edible is beyond comprehension.

One of those incredible artists is Rosa Clara who works magic with the contour of female body and inherent textures of fabrics to create bridal dresses that are precise and understated as well as some of the most luxurious, yet somehow never excessive, gowns. For the many lessons in visual ingenuity and resulting elegance and sophistication these two are the best teachers. Sherry and John Petersik are the authors of a blog called Young House Love who are slowly becoming the kind of real celebrities I admire: creative, hard working, with tons of merit, quiet grace, and a sense of humor. Aaaand, not particularly unpleasant to look at, to boot! Their wedding, though it happened a few years back, is the perfect exercise in joyful simplicity that will never go out of style, or look dated.
